W7 and XP can unzip Zip files within explorer without the need for add-ins.

And to follow on from Dibs excellent advice if you do find yourself wanting a specific compression application then I can thoroughly recommend 7zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) - properly free, open source and simple to use.
