Just upgraded my bandsaw :tool: from a friendly Sheppach basato 3,
to a Axminster SBW 4300 Beast.:tool::tool:
This is one of the blades that came with it  inch and a quarter wide, 1 TPI

It just fits under the roofbeams :?

...........its just that it appears to be at 90 degrees from the way in which it would be used..........unless you plan on feeding lengths of timber through the window!!!

Mike

John - very nice, I'll need something like that shortly. I assume it's OK running off a 13A socket? - Rob

That certainly qualifies as a gloat! I hanker after a bigger one (ahem) ;)

Very nice. And here's me having to extend my workshop to fit in my friendly Basato 3 :) Good job you've got the headroom for the 4300 as well
Enjoy!

John

I also have that machine.
Are you sure that blade will fit?
I think it's max capacity is a 1" blade (so says the manual anyway).
P'raps Philly will confirm?

Also, got mine on a 16A socket.

Thank you guys for your comments,
Mike, it has wheels.
Rob, Runs perfectly off 13 amp.
Boz, Just 2 inches to spare.
Trousers, The previous owner said it runs quite happily with inch and a quarter blade
so long as you make sure the back of the blade is at the rear of the wheel. He used it for cutting out guitar blanks.
It only has 1500 w (2 HP) motor so does not require 16 amps.

Wow thats some first gloat :D

Look forward to some projects putting that beast into good use

Guitar blanks - not the curved bits I hope
Think he must have meant deep ripping the bodies from bigger stock.
Be interesting to know how well it tensioned the blade.

Yup.
When I decide to convert some of the logs in my drying shed I'll let you know.
Until then I'll use the 1/2" that's on it at present.

I can join this gloat as I just upgraded from a small ALDI hobby bandsaw to a Sheppach basato 3 courtesy of the man gloating about his new Axminster which is HUGE.

Good work, it's a lovely machine, mine is just waiting for me to get my @rse in gear, sort the new workshop out and fire it up to blow the cobwebs away.

Rob - I run mine with no problems on a 13a socket. Saying that, I guess it depends on your home electrics as I'm sure others on here have said that they had to upgrade to 16a as it kept tripping.

Cheers

Mark

Mark, I think you are absolutely right!
even with elderly electrics. 1500w should not trip the domestic supply. It is after all around 6 amps
My washing machine is 3kw and that doesn't trip my MCB's.
My PT starts without problems, with much more inertia, I knew I wouldn't have a problem with the saw.
