Hi all,

I have a 2.2KW single phase motor that came off a pressure washer. I had been planning to use it to build a bandsaw mill, but now I'm swinging towards getting myself a big chainsaw and an Alaskan style mill. I want to sell the motor but honestly no idea what its worth! I had an electrician say mechanics always looked for them to convert 3 phase lifts back to single phase.
Has anyone an idea what the motor could be worth? It works perfectly fine and is 1425rpm

1425 rpm is an odd speed. Is it 1500 rpm nominal? New ones to that sort of spec retail round £180 +VAT in the trade for a half decent brand like TEC.

Cobblers!
1425 -1450 is the normal speed for a 4 pole motor on 50Hz

To the OP:-
A pressure washer motor might have non standard mountings ie not the normal foot mount that most machines require.
Oddities like this could lose a lot off the expected price.

I had a big surprise recently at how low inverters now sell for an inverter for a 2.2KW including breaking resistor is around £130. I was looking to convert a 3ph machine to 1ph. However by the time you've replaced the relay / overload current relay and the motor you're typically looking at £300.

I would have thought 1ph motors now are only really bought to replace 1ph motors.

It depends on where you are, I regularly find motors in the .75 - 4kw range for under 50 euros, average price I pay is around 30.
