Of course there are people reading it, it's a great thread, I love seeing what the rest of you are making and this is very nice. I like the assembly platform, if I had more room I would make one, being able to turn the work round on it looks very useful.

I don't know anywhere that stocks bubble oil, but you can buy a new bubble here, scroll down almost to the bottom of the page. 8)

Another thing to do, I think it was Niki who pointed this one out, drill the pilot hole and then use super glue on it. This will bond the fibres together and make the screw grip better.

I liked the idea of threading the handle into the top, but I don't have any chasers or the skill to use them. So I dug out my old whit taps and dies. ½" whit looked to be a good choice and I did mange to cut quite a good thread in the hole in the top. Sorry no pictures, you will understand why...

Well I made the first one and it was to order so this one is for me. Made from Padouk again as I have a good stock of it and it does look smart waxed. The top is 3¼" diameter while the handle is 5" long. I roughed the handle between centres, I drilled a ½" hole in the top and friction holds it...
