Bob, I voted yes please, but did not comment in the thread, however to add it to the How To page needs Charley, I cannot do that.

    Vanity Press - Finished!

Of course there are people reading it, it's a great thread, I love seeing what the rest of you are making and this is very nice. I like the assembly platform, if I had more room I would make one, being able to turn the work round on it looks very useful.

    Wadkin AG10 Again!!

I find it hard to believe that your man cannot find a single phase motor to fit, I know I did my conversion at the end of 2004, but I just looked up motor suppliers in my area and phoned round, the second or third call was successful. Here is a picture of the original 2hp 3ph motor next to the...

    Screw size, piano hinge

Another thing to do, I think it was Niki who pointed this one out, drill the pilot hole and then use super glue on it. This will bond the fibres together and make the screw grip better.

New video: Using the Beall spindle tap

No the best bit of Bob's videos is the being in the shop with Bob, the banter about why he does things, what he finds useful and how the job turns out. These are not posted as tight 'how to videos' they are an invite into a shop to see a work in progress and I have learnt a lot from them. 8)...

    a practical mushroom

I liked the idea of threading the handle into the top, but I don't have any chasers or the skill to use them. So I dug out my old whit taps and dies. ½" whit looked to be a good choice and I did mange to cut quite a good thread in the hole in the top. Sorry no pictures, you will understand why...

The Big 09 UKW turning comp : submissions only

Well I made the first one and it was to order so this one is for me. Made from Padouk again as I have a good stock of it and it does look smart waxed. The top is 3¼" diameter while the handle is 5" long. I roughed the handle between centres, I drilled a ½" hole in the top and friction holds it...
