    Pallet timber tip

Wow, great work there Pren and all out of pallets, just shows what can be achieved out of something that is mostly either buried or burnt in a field or worse still stacked and left to rot. I wonder if other members use pallets in their projects ? Cheers

    Pallet timber tip

Apart from an excellent source of free timber to burn in the wood burning stove pallet timber can be used for any number of projects. The trouble though is extracting the ring nails from the timber without losing too much of the usuable timber in the process. I was using a reciprocating saw to...

    Web problems this morning?

That is strange, Ray, I still can't get it to work but every other site is fine, must be a gremlin in my system somewhere, it could do with an overhaul I think :) Did a full system check, scanned for anything nasty nothing found, tried system restore but still no good. Found a problem with my...

    Online/Offline privacy

Ccleaner, that's a great program and also one I use but I noticed it hadn't been clearing the Index.dat files in the Temporary Internet folder. As for the usefulness of Index.dat analyzer, it cleans all .dat files not just browsing history and cache and cookies, XP will clear those but the...

    Interesting pieces of furniture 18

It is certainly a very interesting piece but I'd love to know what is locked up inside...or perhaps it is best kept locked...either way I expect collectors of this kind of work pay heavily for the priviledge of owning such a piece.

    I'm speechless

Roger, if you have to pay them a visit B&Q are having a sale of Hatchets at the moment  But seriously, if you find it is your hedge replant it with fast growing trees like, as already suggested, Leylandii and if they complain just refresh their memories that it is your hedge and if...

    TS blade guard

Steve, I can understand your need to keep it compact due to the location where the machine is stored and I can see you have a good plan in mind but how will you extract the dust, via the extraction port of the table saw body or do you have something else in mind ?

    Online/Offline privacy

I can't say I'll be there but I might be back here, I just travel between dimensions but to be honest, NOW is the best time to be anywhere, in 2020 MicroHard has taken over the world, if you misbehave you get slapped with a wet fish and have to kiss the feet of the great God, Lord Gates.... ;)...

Index.dat Analyzer v2.0 (It's free!) I run Internet Explorer 7 on my PC and although I have two 'clean up' programs that run after my online sessions I was surprised just how much info was still stored that I had thought would have been deleted by the clean up programs. If you value your...

    RotoZip

I own two, the Bosch version and the similar Ferm omnisaw, great for light duty stuff especially plaster board and ply cutting, great for speaker installation etc but not at all good for thick timber, get a router instead, as already said, i.m.h.o

    Ipods and mp3s and things

This won't help you much Terry but I was looking for a bog standard no frills MP3 player that would play tracks in the order I wanted them played and in the end I opted for a bog standard portable CD player, made my own CD's on the PC and although not as compact as an MP3 player nor possible to...

    Cutting wheels on router table

Niki, that is certainly a very clever idea but I'm lazy when it comes to routing circles and tend to use the Trend N Router Compass, it will rout circles from 1" to 8" and with extension rods you can rout much bigger circles, it's my preferred method :wink...
