Anyone going to Harrogate this weekend?

Hi Tam Yes I`m wondering now if Friday is the best day to go??. As I`m after a new lathe maybe Sunday would have been better if the dealers have had a slow time of it and want to shift some stuff :? . Its the only day I can go so we`ll see. Steve

    Woodturning Club Meeting

Hi Andy I thought that was the point of `Open days` to attract new members. I wouldn`t want to be a member of a club like that anyway. One day they`ll need new members. :x Regards Steve

    Show prices ??

Me too Tam. You would think stuff like lathes, bandsaws and more expensive things are not exactly walking out the dealers doors these days so maybe some good deals on the horizon?? maybe not. I am being optimistic about Harrogate but speaking to a dealer who went to the Midland show he was very...

Segmented for beginners - and a sawing question !

Hi Loz I`ve made three segmented items up to now and think you might be struggling a wee bit without a table saw or band saw, maybe you might get away with a good disc sander which would give a nice crisp surface for the gluing up??. Even my new Ryobi table saw wasn`t accurate enough on its own...

Hi Alie Not sure about the belts for the Record lathes but looking for a belt for my old Draper found some suppliers had them for about a tenner until I checked out my local motor parts shop and found the exact same one for £1.99, might be worth a visit if you take the belt in with you. Cheers...

Hi again chaps The Sorby set up does look a decent piece of kit but I can`t help thinking it looks for all the world like a belt sander albeit a very well made belt sander but still a belt sander or am I completely wrong ?? Regards Steve
