    Festool Domino 500. Best price?

If it works though, given Festool quality and reliability, you might still have got a bargain (albeit at a risk). If it is stolen then that's a different story obviously but how would you know?

    Starting a Web Site

If it's selling small quantities of unique items I would agree with Etsy but having your own site to promote your work could be done alongside it. If you are relatively PC literate then HTML is a doddle and actually easier to use than many packages, plus you get a unique design (if you use a...

Bowl Turning/Carving - Does growth ring orientation matter?

There is a download from someone on this forum (guessing at CHJ) that shows exactly what grain pattern each different log orientation makes when hollowed. Can't remember the website now but hopefully others can?

    Kity 613 Owners

Just posted in the other thread. Got it to work but the small blade cannot run on the edge like the bigger blades can. The tracking doesn't seem able to correct the blade sliding off the edge but can hold it steady once I get it in the right place. Trouble now is I need to fit a bigger blade...

    Kity 613 Problems

I've got it working in the last hour, took very careful tweaking of the tracking, not too much tension and guiding the blade away from the wheel edge when it got too close as I was adjusting. It seemed that the tracking was able to get the blade steady in one place but not move it...

    Kity 613 Problems

I did wonder that, the tyres are not completely ruined but aren't perfect either so I wouldn't feel bad replacing them. I had thought the crown normally comes from the wheel though?

    Kity 613 Problems

It is designed with flat tyres rather than crowned. Had it working last night until I tightened the locking nut on the tracking and must have moved it a touch. Cue blade running off again.

    Everyone Vote in Scotland Independance

I wouldn't be sure on there being no EU veto. Many of the larger European countries have separatist movements of their own and the last thing they want is a successful independence movement in Scotland. Spain, France even Germany all have groups that would use this as a precedent to push for...

    Kity 613 Owners

It states the minimum as 1/4" but I've read of people using 1/8". As a side note, I understand why bigger blades don't work (tension etc.) but why a limit on small blades? It was fine with the 3/8" that I removed yesterday, if I get nowhere I'll try reinstalling that. Checked the tyres, they...

    Kity 613 Problems

It could be. The Kity has flat tyres rather than crowned - I'm sure it makes tracking harder. If I don't get any more feedback it will be another hour tonight of trying fine adjustments.

    Kity 613 Owners

Posting here as many of you don't go to the general forum. Having real trouble with tracking on a Kity 613, blade won't stay in one place and runs off the wheel. Looking for someone who can help?

    Kity 613 Problems

Hi all. Picked up a 613 a few weeks ago, first blade fitted was a 3/8", took some fiddling to get it to track on the edge of the wheel but managed it eventually and well tensioned. Happily resawn 8" dry oak since. Tried to fit a 1/8" blade today and cannot get it working for the life of me...

    SWMBO

I'll second having a browse of Not on the High Street. Replicated something from their last year, it went down a treat and cost about a tenth of what they are charging.

Mitre Fence Needed - Anyone got a spare?

Thanks for the offer but Andy has sorted me out with one now.

    Craft fair cost

Simple answer...If you're not happy paying it then don't. If they have genuinely over estimated the value of a table in the market then they don't get the sellers and their business fails. You begrudge the organisers making profit - why shouldn't they if you are making profit? Should they do it...

Mitre Fence Needed - Anyone got a spare?

I'm going to cut a slot or fit a track to suit the mitre fence I end up with, so any fence would work at this stage. At the moment I have no slot or track in the table.

Mitre Fence Needed - Anyone got a spare?

I've not cut a slot yet - was waiting until I had a fence.

First turning in almost a year

Produced from your old lathe as well Steven. I always planned to upgrade by now but there's been too many distractions keeping me away from it that I'm not even starting to find its limits.
