    Abranet discs

Deema is correct. The Abranet disks need their own pads as they are slightly different from other makes of pad. I know this as we used to use them exclusively at my last place of employment and had a chat to the Abranet guy. Luckily for me he had a spare one in his van at the time and made me a...

The post isn't what it used to be.

I recently received an item through the post with my address on but for someone else. Not knowing the recipient I wrote on the address label 'Not known at this address' the following day it arrived again! This time I wrote in felt marker across the parcel 'STILL NOT KNOWN AT THIS ADDRESS' It...

    Inguinal Hernia

I feel like a big coward after reading all of these posts. I have had a hernia for around five years now with no pain or discomfort at all just the swelling. I still do a bit of lifting like sheets of 18mm MDF, furniture etc, but usually nothing too heavy like a worktop (I get assistance...

Can you save time by Spray-Painting?

Spot on advice all round. I would only add that if using water based a degreaser is a 'MUST' as it will fish eye up far easier than a solvent based product. Also the sanding process has to be better than hand painting due to the thinner paint coats.

    Wooden radial engine!!

I have to admit that rotary engines have interested me for years. I just couldn't get my head around how the fuel was introduced and how the exhaust worked if everything was spinning! After reading up on them and seeing drawings/videos of them I wondered how ever anyone could have come up with...

    draws.

It's just laziness, nowadays every thing is speed, even writing, (Do people still write?) I have to admit I hate text speak and have trouble understanding it! I text like I type with the correct words but I am an old git who still uses imperial measurements too.

    Golf storage

Not knowing much about golf myself I didn't drill any vents in the unit. I think he said that his clubs are is it graphite? I am not sure but will that make a difference? If not I will have to make sure there is some venting incorporated before it's delivered.

What is the Best and Your Favourite Movie of all time??

Very difficult question this as there are so many memorable movies. i think my ultimate favourite which i have watched many times has to be 'The killing fields' but I do like movies based on true events. Have to say Terminator 1 was the best for me as it was so new and unusual. After that one...

    Pine computer desk

I have just about finished this desk for a client. They wanted rustic looking drawer fronts and door with a smooth finish on the rest. My customer is going to put a finish on it. :D I am now waiting for one more handle which they missed off the order!

    More under stairs work

Thanks Bob. I had to fit the tallest handle there or it would have been too high for pulling on, but I can see what you mean. Looks like I have made a double post, sorry mods, this computer is playing up. Could someone remove one of them please.

    More under stairs work

Well at long last I got these fitted today! My customer works so I had to fit around her shifts. It took my assistant and I all day to fit them but I think they went in well in the end. Customer was very happy with them and that's what matters. ;) I made some generic handles for them as she...

    Disastrous day in the shop.

I have found that MRMDF and Zinnser bin are brilliant. Morrells also make an MDF sealer that is brilliant but only available in 5 ltr cans.

    Filling around solid wood edging

2 part body filler is perfect for this job. mix it and use it quickly while it is still very soft. The golf ball to a pea ratio is spot on but the more hardener that is added the quicker it starts to set. Apply it diagonally to the gap with force and it will force it into the smallest of gaps...
