    Specialist tool hire companies?

I've got a cantex a great bit of kit but at today's prices it would be hard to justify I think mine was £800 ish cheaper than today's price. Another piece of kit looking out for is a betterley flush trimmer I picked one up from a retiring local joiner for £40 and it works as well as the cantex...

    relax woodburner

I've had one for quite a few years the first one I had was a r6 I think and it buckled quite badly after a couple of winters as the steel of the drum is quite thin. It was replaced by a new drum made from 5mm steel and it has been fine for the last 4 or 5 years. Cheers Jon

    Hot Tub

Thanks for the interest the parts were purchased from logosol along with the timber to go with it see here http://www.logosol.com/store/uk/index.p ... ksbad.html The idea is as has already been said that the water expands the joints and makes it all tight and leak free. Had a few bits to...

    Hot Tub

A bit of fun for a Friday. A load of larch was delivered and we started with the base. The T&G boards were held temporarily underneath whilst a circle was routed out to 1.75m diameter The boarding was pre machined but a housing was needed to fit over the base so this was done on the RAS...

    Can I make sash windows?

Your not to far from me and I would be happy to show you how to make one if you wanted to pop over for an hour or 2 one weekend. You can do most of the work with a profile and scribe set for the router. Your biggest problem will be the rebates in the sashes as they will be approx 40mm x 15mm and...

    Apply ABS edging

You can also use PU glue to apply the lippings just sand the back with a bit of 80grit first dampen one side apply glue and clamp. I think Ostermann sell a special glue to attach lippings with as well. I've always found that contact adhesive leaves a quite dark and rubbery glue line. Cheers Jon

    What's the deal with Abranet?

I use it for denibbing between coats of lacquer usually 320g on the ros . My only complaint is that it can tear quite easily if using it on framed doors or frames otherwise I'm happy with it. Cheers Jon

I can live with the twisted handle so I think I'll keep it. Should I bring it along to the sharpening event? Cheers Jon
