Have used one for 20 years now, the barrel has been replaced as the old one buckled its easy to get them to glow orange. Be careful when loading them up with too many shavings as they tend to go boom lift the lid and fill the workshop with smoke. I nearly burn't the workshop down by stacking a pile of shavings near to mine, had to go back to the house after lighting it. 1 hour later my blade sharpening chap called in and asked why smoke was coming from the workshop, the pile of shaving had tipped over onto the burner and had combusted. I had to crawl under the smoke and extinguish the fire. 10 minutes and the whole lot would have gone up, only damage was a burnt wall and a cracked window. i tend to burn offcuts and logs these days.
