    Another beginner...

3"x2" timber will be fine for the stud wall. You don't need to fix it to the wall. Fix it to the floor and fix straight through the top plate into the ceiling joists. You might need to add noggins to fix the wall to depending which way the ceiling joists run.

    Trend Diamond Cross Sharpening Plates

Trend must have a bloody good marketing team, because they seem to do well selling inferior products at high prices. I try and avoid buying trend where possible. Even my two piece trend hinge jig need a hole elongating to make it sit straight. The trend t4 router I bought just to use with the...

    Naming challenge

Are you gonna charge people each time they go or set up like a month subscription? Be interesting to see how you get on with it, I couldn't imagine many people paying to walk their dog in a field but I suppose it's a bit different if it's got obstacles etc for them to train on. Good luck! Sorry...

    Any plumbing experts ?

What's it got to do with the OP's problem wether they are gate valves or ball valves? Absolutely nothing so you're just being petty.

Stan Tools Parallel Guides for Makita or Festool track saws

Slow and inaccurate without the guides? You must be using it wrong if it's slow or inaccurate? All you have to do is Mark either end of the piece you want to cut, drop the track on and make the cut? I wouldn't like to use those guides they would slow me down no end unless I was cutting a load...

Eterno Ivica Star.T tile pedestal system

I imagine getting those pedestals in the exact position to just drop the tiles in place is going to be awkward but I'm happy to be proved wrong :D. Let us know how it goes I'm interested to know. Sorry I got confused, I thought you weren't going to grout them if you used adhesive but now I can...

    Drills through anything!

Ah Ok. I've never had them do that without getting really really hot (and knowing about it). Have you tried the drill bits which have diamond round the outside with the center filled with a cooling wax, they're quite good on really hard granite etc.

    Drills through anything!

Obviously not if you've melted the end of the bit.

DBT85s Workshop - Moved in and now time to fit it out

Cracking on now, nice one; but cant help thinking why didn't you just leave the walls laying down until your ready to fix them in place? They're likely to twist being proped like that. Can't believe this thread has 25 pages and the walls haven't even been built yet

    Drills through anything!

You're wrong there mate, the bosch multiconstruction are actually really good. They fly through bricks and blocks in a cordless without even having hammer on

    Drills through anything!

You must have let them get too hot. You should have used them on a slow speed and keep dunking them in water to keep them cool.

    Drills through anything!

The bosch multipurpose are really good apart from on really hard ceramics porcelain and granite.

    Mitre Saw reccomendations

I've got the big dewalt sliding mitre saw and have no problems with it what so ever. The blade hadow line feature it has is really accurate compared to previous saws I have used with lasers. I had the older big dewalt before this that lasted roughly 15 years of day in day out use before the...

Eterno Ivica Star.T tile pedestal system

You need to be working backwards away from the tiles you have just laid? You should start the far end and work towards yourself. I've never seen those tile things in person but I can't imagine they are very easy to use. When laying the tiles you want to make sure you get a nice even spread of...

    Router guide-blithering *****

I don't think you need a 1/2" guide bush. I think you need a 15.8mm guide bush. Something like this... https://www.scosarg.com/template-guide- ... for-cmt300 You'll have to make sure if fits your router, if not, CMT do a universal base plate to fit your router which the guide bush then fits...
