    My Cheap Bench Build!

I built something similar just for a general workbench, not for a lathe. Currently putting doors on the front - would really recommend this as it keeps the dust and shavings out.

    Mr. Fred Goodwin

Erm, does Rooney play for Liverpool now then?! You forgot to add replica shirt sales, TV rights, sponsorship and marketing. Plus the individual players sponsorship deals on top of their salary. Makes me wonder whether I should have tried harder in PE at school!

    Mr. Fred Goodwin

As far as I am aware, Fred Goodwin has lost his knighthood and not alot else - exactly how is he a scapegoat? Dis-investiture of a conferred title is the perogitive of only the monarch, who receives advice from parliament. It does take a while for the wheels of power to turn, and he is the first...

    Anyone sell web hosting packages?

Just steer clear of 1and1 - biggest load of shysters going and absolutely useless when you phone them up! Tom over at TWH was offering to build and hosts sites a while ago - might do hosting only if you want to build it? Steve

    Health Centres / Gyms

I know you are only trolling Jacob, but I have re-read the entire thread and cannot see a personal insult. The closest would be my statement that I find some of John's statements incorrect or silly. If anyone needs to resort to personal insults to win an argument then they have probably already...

I can go through amazon and find books that state alien's exist, I can find books which state the world will in in 2012 due to Myan prophecy, I can find books that claim to prove god exists and books that state he doesn't. Writing a book doesn't make its content correct, evidence based or...

    Health Centres / Gyms

Sorry John, those books are the authors opinion, not peer reviewed scientific studies. As such they cannot be considered as evidence to my mind. As you say, lets agree to disagree on this one. The bottom line from my perspective is still that calorie reduction, rather than wheat specifically, is...

    Health Centres / Gyms

No - I am saying your weight loss was due to a reduction in calorific intake. Whether you achieve this through cutting out wheat, or cutting out something else or even cutting down a bit of everything is irrelevant - its the reduction in calorific content that is important. Steve

    Health Centres / Gyms

Sigh - OK, I'll bite... Can you back any of your statements with evidence John? My evidence comes from having a BSc and a PhD, working for 15 years in the field of genetics, cardiovascular genetics, cerebrovascular genetics and atheroscelrosis, having over 50 peer reviewed publications in these...

Oh dear, now you are just making yourself look silly John. When in a hole stop digging would be my advice. I shall bow out of this thread now as it seems to be getting nowhere. Steve

There is no such thing as a fattening food and a non-fattening food! Foods have different calorific contents per unit weight, so eating the same weight of some foods gives you more calories than others (which is why calories in foods are displayed as per 100g as well as per unit or portion - so...

Clearly, but thanks for the disclaimer anyway. Define stress please? A heart attack is the failure of the heart muscle to pump sufficient blood round the body to supply it with its oxygen needs. This is typically (although not exclusively) as a consequence of atheroma blocking the coronary...

Thanks guys, I have just got my free tv license

If you consider they are getting 'lumbered' with the fee then perhaps they are not doing the right course? The cost of a course has not risen 3 fold, rather the source of the funding has altered to be placed on the participant rather than the general public. The education of the other two...
