    Dust extraction fine filter q

I have a 750w axminster chip extractor which is just about man enough to take everything from the Scheppach planer thicknesser. I was thinking of putting a cylcone in to get rid of the fine dust but I think I will lose a bit of suction power doing this and the extractor is only just up to the...

    Power tool price variation

I'd go cheapest everytime. At the end of the day the dealers don't fix things in house. Just because its dearer it doesn't mean its a better business to buy from. It could be the opposite actually. The cheaper one sells more and possibly more used to getting returns and sorting them.

    Dakota Pocket hole jig

Now some of you don't like rutlands but I find them ok and have had some corking deals over the years. I will also admit some Dakota stuff isn't great by all accounts. However this is a good deal: Pocket hole jig for £30 http://www.rutlands.co.uk/sp+woodworkin ... ota+dkphgx A trend/kreg/ujk...

    My Axminster AW106PT2 Planer Thicknesser

    Which dust extractor for planer/thicknesser

If you have the extractor in an outside space how do you turn it on via the nvr switch? do you just wire it in straight to a plug in the workshop?

    Pocket hole jig

Think I'm leaning towards a UJK as you can get it and all the extras and a pack of 1000 screws for just under £100.

    Pocket hole jig

UJK or Dakota or Kreg or Trend? I want the best value. UJK and Trend seems same price KREg a bit more - willing to pay if its better Dakota - cheap but I like a bargain I'm not going to be doing industrial amounts of work with it but I like a decent item and a bargain (cake and eating it)

    Rutlands Speedy Delivery

Rutlands can be very good. Very good deals but its fashionable to knock them. They are not perfect but they are not as bad as people claim either.

    Paul Sellers video

Oh no innovation is good. But not all "innovation" is innovative enough to stand the test of time or marketplace and sometimes the marketing overtakes the product. But each to their own of course. I find it quite a shame seeing all the stuff for sale here sometimes lots of stuff "barely used"...

    Paul Sellers video

I have to say Jacob talks some sense. As does Sellers. Simple, innovative, frugal, repeatable techniques and methods of work bring far more to the amateur woodworker than feeling insecure because you haven't got the latest gadget. That's not a criticism of using quality tools etc. but its...

    Waste plumbing for dust extraction

I think I'd like to do this. What size hose did you use? Does it never get in the way?
