Can't believe I didn't think of this before

You might as well use them if they still perform well. I didn't want to go the lithium route purely because I had so many old style battery tools. I bought some Chinese batteries and put the cells into my knackered Makita battery housings. (the housings don't feel right and don't clip in the...

Replacing collection bag on a HVLP dust extractor

You can only fit so many 160 liter bags in the wheely bin without the other half complaining that her garden cuttings don't fit as it's full of sawdust....

First big tool purchase? £800 budget

I have also been looking at the Charnwood W619 and W629 but mixed reviews so unsure. I do use my table saw every day and usage is on par with my mitre saw and router table. Bandsaw doesn't get used as much. All depends what you're making I suppose.

    It'll be fine!

Are those clamps from Rutlands? I just bought 4 sets last week. Cut some CLS down to 28 x 60mm and drilled a load of holes in. Trying them out tomorrow... :|

Can't believe I didn't think of this before

The old style Makita push in battery battery chargers don't. They just have 4 plastic feet. The battery might not stay in place if the charger was to be mounted at 90º. Strangely, the new Makita 18v slide on battery battery chargers don't have mounts to enable them to be wall mounted, just...

Replacing collection bag on a HVLP dust extractor

Not even thought of those. I'll get some fairly strong ones in to do the job. Cheers Pete.

Sorry Phil, English is not my first language and I'm still learning.

Can't believe I didn't think of this before

It's sometimes called memory effect( sometimes battery effect) and is derived from cyclic memory. The battery seems to remember the smaller capacity. That's why you used to see people onsite walking round with their finger on the trigger to deplete the batteries. The NiMH batteries are not...

Nothing to do with Bags for (Lidl) vacuums

Thanks, Is a cyclone still effective with very fine dust? I'm sanding 120 and 240 grid. I have a small cyclone at the end of a 1hp HVLP extractor on my table saw and that works great. Daft question maybe but I already have the small cyclone on top of a 60L plastic drum. Would it be possible...

Can't believe I didn't think of this before

Ni-Cd, Ni-Mh and Li-Ion you can leave on charge after fully charged as they all stop charging after they're fully charged. Ni-Cd and Ni-Mh really need to be used till they're depleted unlike the Li-Ion batteries as they're not affected by memory. I have changed nearly all my old style Makita...

Replacing collection bag on a HVLP dust extractor

I did say the bag isn't filling very quick but it's getting rather busy building toy boxes for the coming Christmas period and the bag is nearly full already. How do you guys tie it up? In my local wood shop the have some metal string and a twisty tool to tie it tight. Just asking as I don't...

Nothing to do with Bags for (Lidl) vacuums

If anyone has found some genuine bags for the FOX F50-800 shop vac I'm all ears. I'm filling a bag in a week just with two sanders. Four quid a bag doesn't sound much but it all adds up...

    Workshop machinery setup help needed

Oddly enough I had this last week. I couldn't cut in a straight line and set up the saw 3-4 times. Bought a new blade, set it up and it's all OK. Thought I'd damaged the machine to start with..

Cheers for the heads up Rob. It's a good job I have few months left to find something. :|

Bosch, Makita or Dewalt 12” mitre saw

That'll be similar to the Record one. If anyone with a SIP/Draper/Lumberjack/Scheppach/Clarkeextractor wants these bags let me know.

    AXMINSTER TS250 TABLE SAW Alternative...

They both look good. I'm in the market for a new table saw come January and have been looking at the above Axi and the Charnwood W629 and W619. Can't make my mind up as yet. These are all out of the OP's £500 budget though.

Bosch, Makita or Dewalt 12” mitre saw

Is that the one with a biggish filter with a paper bag over it? I had the SIP (very LOUD) version but it has given up after 5 years and I still have 4 paper filter bags for it if anyone wants them for free. (P&P needs to be paid though). I have since bought two quieter extractors to replace...

    My first router table

Looking good. Nice and simple and does the job. In fact, it probably do most jobs you'll ever need a router table for. I like the fence construction with one fixed end. My first router table was a piece of kitchen top with a diy fence. Even the feather boards I cut out of wood running in a...

    Best Chop Saw?

+2 on the Makita blades. Other way round for me RE the soft start. I used to have a Makita LS1040 without soft start but with brake and now have a LS1018L with soft start and brake. I think I prefer the non soft start especially doing multiple cuts and having to wait for the thing to spin up...
