I like the box, but I'm more interested in pics of the bandsaw! Ed

    Yet another Rutlands rant

Consignment stock is the thinking mans solution to that quandry. Ed

    Yet another Rutlands rant

I think in their particular case they do hold stock of everything, which is one of the reasons why they are successful IMO. Ed

    LN 25th Anniversary 4 1/2

Looking back, I sort of wish I'd bought one at the time. That said, theres no way its worth £1200. Ed

    Mitres are harder than dovetails!

I find my DeWalt mitre saw extremely accurate and would probably consider it as the first port of call in many mitre situations. Tablesaw is the other option. I know that early in my woodworking career if I tried to adjust a mitre with handtools I just made it worse. Thats not so much the case...

    Where Do We Start?

I think the legs could be fabricated from square tube - if you had them welded up out of ali they could be polished up nicely. Its a couple of hours work for a local fabricator. Ed

    Ash / walnut coffee table

Very nicely done gasman. If only I'd put my evenings last week to equally good use.. Ed

    Numatic NV750 Workshop Vacuum Extractor

I looked at these a while back and decided the twin motor Camvac was a better option. At the time, Yandles was the best price on them. Ed

    Sun child razor saw

Pete Might be worth a PM to Mr. Charlesworth as I believe he has always been a Sunchild advocate and may know where they are stocked. Ed

Large horse chestnut tree being felled

I took down a massive horse chestnut on a project late last year and had to pay to get rid of it - firewood was the only option I could find at the time. Everything I have read suggests it is not a good timber for furniture, but thats not to say you can't give it a go. I got some turkey oak...

My TS-200 fettling and saw/RT bench build thread...

That was a product of standing up underneath it after picking something up of the floor a couple of times - not something to repeat too often! Ed

Veritas bevel-up jointer plane and multiple blades?

Me too, I have a suspicion that the edge deteriorates more quickly when used at the higher angle, but not to an extent that makes it worth changing back to a lower angle. Ed

    Bent chopsaw fence.

I had exactly this issue on the same saw. What I found was that when I released all the fixings that hold the fence to the base casting it relaxed back to a more or less straight position. How it happened is another question, as it started off straight and stayed straight for some years and is...

    Enamel Kiln for hardening?

Excellent outcome and an enjoyable wip to read. It does however, make me realise that I can't be bothered with all that myself, but fascinating to see someone else do it nonetheless. Ed

It's the BIG Easter LN sell off...everything all SOLD

Having read your recent blog post I can see whats going on here...I was thinking you had taken up fishing instead. Ed

    Newark Machinery

There are 2 factors IMO why the US is better served for tool manufacturers, magazines and generally all things woodworking; 1. It is clearly many times bigger than the UK, so creating a larger market. 2. What I will call the 'pioneer spirit' of the US seems to have left them with a populus...

    Fish Tail Chisel

That looks excellent Pete. Can you give a quick explanation of the metal shaping process, for those of us considering having a go? Ed
