Looking back, I sort of wish I'd bought one at the time. That said, theres no way its worth £1200.

Wow! That's a lorra, lorra. I use mine - kinda defeats the object leaving the thing in the box.
Cheers
Philly :D

Yep, I agree not much point having an unused tool. I doubt these were £1200 originally though? Would anyone here be willing to pay that much for a plane and "risk" using it day to day?

I will watch this with interest but doubt that it will sell. Would be very happy if it did though! :) 8)
I got just under £600 for one of mine and thought I did very well indeed.
It will be interesting to see how the Cliftons do in a few years time from an investment (not use!) point of view.
I would have thought that the best way with the Cliftons would be to have a full set but very expensive though I do believe Paul C is almost there
I am taking a 10 year view on my other LN 4 1/2's, 3 of which were bought way under the original asking price and one just very slightly over.
I am happy to think they will do better than the money in stocks... ISA's and all that other cr*p in these unstable times.
At the moment the plane market seems very irrational, some rarer stuff still doing well; some not, notably Norris, while some really very ordinary items are making crazy prices.
Cheers all,
Martin

Only one, I'm afraid, but a complete set would be very nice :-k My financial adviser (aka SWMBO) might possibly have other ideas  She doesn't even know about the one............ 8-[ 8-[ 8-[

 What? You know that one has a special number, which is in great demand by some people, so it will be double the price

Cheers

On the other hand, there's a few interesting stories about impulse tool purchases that Norma hasn't heard about yet  :-#
