Electrical Help Please

I have bought a a foot switch like the one on Amazon shown here http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00EDK2CRM/r ... Y5RA4PFTP2
I need to know from the electricians amongst you, about the correct wiring.

It has three points to connect wires, Com 1 - No 3 and NC 2. Which way do I wire these terminals to get the correct operation with a scroll saw to work when the foot switch is depressed.

The body of the foot switch is Aluminium, but it seems thre is no earth connection, so should I put a screw in the metal case and connect the earth cable to that.?

I am not an electrician. I suspect NC is normally closed, NO normally open. So when the switch is not pressed the current would flow COM to NC, and when pressed COM to NO. Maybe test it using a multi-meter or AVOmeter or battery and bulb ?

Pretty much right. Live in to the common. Live from the NO to your scroll saw, assuming you want it to operate when the pedal is depressed. The two neutrals can be joined together in a connection block (unless it's a double pole then there will be obvious connections for them).
Personally I'd join the earth's in the same way and not bother earthing the pedal unless you intend to use it barefoot.

The neutrals are joined together in the connection block - they don't touch the switch terminals

So, from the mains, the wires are connected to the footswitch as follows?
Live to COM
Neutral does not connect to switch just to scrollsaw
Earth also just to scrollsaw UNLESS CONNECTED TO FOOTSWITCH?

The output to the scrollsaw from the switch would therefore only be the Live from NO

Neutral and earth are not in the switch?

Correct.

Basically the neutral and earth are bypassing the switch via connection blocks (or soldered together). Only the live is switched.

Just confirming the post in Scrollsawing-Scroll Saws, the foot switch is now complete and working in conjunction with the scroll saw as intended. Thanks to all those who helped with information. Photos of the wiring diagram and the scrollsaw works are all there.
