Managed to finsih the fourth vase off earlier that i started last week but didn't finish due to the lathes tailstock,and here it is,hope it was worth waiting for :lol:
Another different shape complete with natural inclusions.Wall thickness about 2mm.
275mm tall and 85mm wide.Finished with sanding sealer and microcrystaline wax.

Lovely vase, not yet got the confidence or skill to cut deep hollows. Plus yew is near my favourite wood.
 
Will you stop doing all these great vases you are making me jealous turning all that yew and being able to get on the lathe :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Another great vase well done. Like the small foot just big enough to give it support without sticking out like a soar thumb

Dal i have been away from the lathe meself for too long so its great to get back into the swing of things,even though i have to think a bit about what i am doing now :shock: :lol:
 
Very nice vase indeed, yew is a lovely wood to turn and I have nearly run out of it never mind they are cutting one down at the big house up the road from me and I have been promised some of it hmm wish they would hurry up and cut it (hammer)
