Going back to your original post Stig,
you are going to need someware to put the screen on, how about something like this.
You can put the Xbox flat (My son has one ) his is laid flat.

I just stand my projector on the coffee table and pack away when not in use. I helped a friend ceiling mount his unit which works well. We had a good few hours yesterday on the xbox playing guitar hero which was great fun.

I'm getting one of those electric screens that are screwed to the ceiling, I just didn't fancy putting the projector on the ceiling as I have a ceiling fan and as far as we can see it would obstruct it which is a pain... I was wondering if I could build it into a cabinet and maybe put it on a lift which would be cool and knowing me never get finished once the parts had been purchased, lol. I guess I could move the fish tank and have it firing over my head then build it into the top of the dresser and have a false drawer at the front... ooo... thats a nice idea... where's Google SketchUp!

Is it really worth the hassle? Are projectors really that much better than a 48" flastscreen? Surely the money your going to spend on a projector and all the hassle mounting it, you could get your self a nice tv and habd done with it. (or grow up and go find a woman) ;)

TV is much easier to turn on and doesn't need a warm up first...

I think I'd only go for a projector if I had a dedicated cinema room which has been designed properly with a proper sound system. Projecting Eastenders in the living room isn't quite what that sort of technology way meant for. Computer games need a better display output to benefit from the awesome graphics they have nowadays.

Honestly, you aint never going to impress a woman with a projector in your living room. They really don't care. As long as it play hollyoaks, they're happy.

Thanks lads, my misses left me on Sunday, I've pretty cut up about it after being together for just over 3 years. I'd do anything to have her back especially since its Christmas and New Years Eve is only a few days away but I can't seem to think of a way to make things work :(
