Not for me I'm afraid, I would be forever "Hunting the piece of wood for the Design" instead of hunting the "Design in a piece of wood", which is where I get the pleasure from in turning.
Whilst curbing my patience I have been browsing the net for ideas and inspiration. There are loads of sites out there. Try typing "woodturning projects" into google. (Use the quotation marks) There are a lot of ideas and projects that you can download and adapt to suit your wood etc. Thgink of all the wood or tools that you could buy for the £70 the programme costs!
i agree with bodrighy, unless you have eveything, not only that it takes the enjoyment out of it, especialy when it turns out better than you imagined it.
