For those that did not get this video from FW this morning.

I would love to do this to my double garage, I would need planning permission (over 4 mtrs. height, frontage to road. etc. etc.)

I think the ceiling joists are interesting, do they rest on the wall plates or are they fixed to the rafters? I would prefer to fix to the rafters and then the cross joists could be shorter in length. (my garage is 5.5 wide across).

How much would each rafter/joist cost if factory made do you think?

Finewoodworking had a photo montage of the same workshop showing its construction. The joists were fixed to the rafters.

Its a nice workshop but it looks very full. I wouldn't fancy making kitchen cabinets in there.

How're you doing these times Devonwoody? Am I right in saying your shop is parked up until the new year?

Just done 90 minutes gardening, six sack of garden rubbish. If it had been dry underfoot I would have burnt the rockery off with the flame gun but its damp underneath.

Might take the bath panel off this afternoon and fit new bath taps,(lever type) but it means draining the hot tank and a lot of work on my knees.
So not doing too bad, but its too cold and damp in the W/S. So that's dormant until next spring and March drying winds.

So what would each truss cost for a 5.5 x 5.5 metre roof plus wall plates?

Time required to fit the lot up top?

You made me smile Eoin. I've got almost as much equipment is my single garage sized workshop and I am going to make kitchen cabinets next year
