Looking back on over 30 years of woodworking I realise I've ticked a fair few boxes. Windsor chair...tick, wooden boat...tick, inlayed and veneered furniture...tick, dining table and matching set of chairs...tick, linenfold blanket chest...tick, chest of drawers with way too many hand cut dovetails...tick.
But there's still so many things that I've never made,
A musical instrument
A Carlton House Desk (with secret drawers)
Any kind of extending leaf table
A Krenov style cabinet on stand
A Rietveld chair
A sash window
A natural edge Nakashima style piece of furniture
A bow fronted cabinet of any description
A really good workbench
I'd consider myself a fairly experienced woodworker, but it's sobering to realise that there's far more things I haven't made than I have made!
What's on your bucket list, and what should be on every woodworker's bucket list?
