I was an avid reader of GW for about 5 years, then for a change I picked up a copy of Fine Wood Working's Tools and Shops annual issue a few years back.
I only buy FWW now (luckily my local Smiths sell it) and I have ordered back issues from their web site.
I also have half a dozen of Taunton's books on the subject and can only recommend them.
The americans seem to have a totally different perspective of "woodworking", largely I think because they have so many houses made from wood.
Imagine how much easier it would be to convince the Mrs that you really need that new sliding mitre saw because it will help you build that extension she wants?
