Hi all I heard a bang and went to the workshop only to find
chris [ ratwood ] on the floor  he was turning a rolling pin for a work mate
the wood was beech it delaminated the bang was it coming off the lathe and
flying around the work shop one bit hit chris, so the wood came off worst

he is all right

the moral of the story is to do your own glue ups

Glad to hear that Chris is OK, rolling pins are usually only dangerous when finished and in the hands of ...... no I wouldn't dare say it.

What did you call him Sue, something soothing I assume.

You say this was a laminated piece? Was a ring tailstock centre used or a pointed one?

The ring centres are really worth their weight in gold for this type of work.

Come on Chris, don't be chicken - say it - say it. It was Mrs R all the time - he's trangressed and got a come-uppance!!

:D

Glad all is OK - having had what seems like a rather narrow escape myself recently with a tool break, I can sympathise. Lucky Chris to have a near-by missus to pick up the pieces.
