Just a reminder that the woodmex 2008 show runs from the 26-29 Oct at the NEC Birmingham. Looks like quite a large exhibition. There's also the Interbuild exhibition on at the same time held in neighbouring halls. These are both free entry if you register as trade before hand

It's not called WoodMex anymore, hasn't been since 2004!!!.

It's called W8, the name changed in 2006 when it was W6 :) .

So in 2010 it should be called ........... fanfare da da W2010 :D

OllyK, Your link is correct so I suspect the server is down at the moment.

It's a trade only event of mainly industrial machines and this year Interbuild is in the adjoining halls.

I'm going on Wed.

Any links? All the links I have found to the event organiser are dead!

http://www.w8exhibition.com/ for example

can you imagine how many people will stop going because of this
Not really, most will have pre registered by now, and all interested parties have known for some time when the show is etc.

Why, not because the links to the web site servers down due to a technical hitch (they are up & running now) surely ??.

Most of the large exhibitors are already at the event putting the final touches etc, the smaller ones will be there tomorrow morning early

Went a couple of years ago and have to say the 5 axis machining was very interesting.
One company were producing butterflies from solid.
They were very fine and fragile but just shows what can be manufactured today.

I wanted to buy one and stick it in the garage...load it up and let it knock stuff out all day...

I enjoyed the show.J Boddies had a good display and their catalogue is excellent for revieiwng timber.
Look out for the freebies.......
But this year I will have to give it a miss.

Mike
