Sort of woodwork related for this section (mods feel free to move to general off topic if not appropriate) I bought this today as a Georgian Oak cutlery tray - circa 1810, but it feels a little light for oak. I can normally tell oak but I'm not sure this isn't pine. Any help, chaps?

Looks like oak to me too, but maybe the base is something else if it feels light, but even then the growth rings on the ends of the base pieces look close and tight which would be consistent with oak too ?

Cheers, Paul :D
