Finished all the sanding and shaping. The head took a bit of time in the end i copied a pic of a seagulls head i think it works.
Finally i lightly scorched the whole thing.
It is 1015mm long.
I will welcome any comments good or bad i am pretty thick skinned.

Hi

I like the finished piece, the head looks better than the first. This one seems to fit the shape of the body better.

The only thing that seems old is the lenght of the neck, to me it seem a bit long by about the size of the head.

Hi Johnny.
Thanks for your positive comment.

Hi Mark.
I never really wanted it too be an exact copy of a bird therefore the proportions are not exact.
Thank you for commenting much appreciated.

Regards George

I like it a lot George, OK so it doesn't look like any specific bird but it isn't meant to is it? As it is it allows us to see what we want in it so it should please Mark  Being oak it'll weather in ways that just make it more interesting as time goes by. What's the next one going to be?

I like him too ... a bit 'cormorant'-esque, and as you say, its not a specific replica of a bird... he definately reminds me of a cormorant though !.

He's great.. got a bit of 'rustic', a bit of 'artistic' .. he just wins on all counts.
really good ! 8) 8) 8)

Hi George

I like this and you must have been pleased to see the end result. I also think as it is not meant to be a direct replica of a specific bird that it is quite a fun character to look at.

Not bad for someone who only a few months ago would tell me he could not think outside of the box.

Well George you have done it again another fantastic piece the highest praise I can give for this is I would love it in my garden, Sorry Mark it just beats your man one.

Bet you got a few funny looks, hope you weren't talking to him, I sort of assume it's a him. Never could sex birds very well.

On a more serious note that'd make a great publicity shot if you try and sell it.
