A fantastic piece, I would be delighted to produce something like that and I hope you are too. My one observation, as others have made - the dovetail spacing is compromised by the jig, the slight pins either end don't look right to me. But that's the fault of the jig, not your top notch craftsmanship!

Thanks guys - I agree about the dovetails. I should have considered it more for the size of the wood. I couldn't quite justify a Leigh jig for one job.

REALLY nice DiscoStu, well done, I'm sure they'll love it.

The bottle-like shaping of the 2 uprights make it really "well cool man" (!), and just as you say, that laser lettering really is the icing on the cake - much better than the scroll saw lettering I suggested in response to your original post.

Now I was thinking, that if you moved the glasses to the middle under the handle to make more space for the hand, you could put two bottles one either side which would improve the proportions. Or do I mean portions ...

Tony I like your thinking. Maybe a tumbler would give even more room. Although you couldn't have wine in a tumbler so a couple of single malts either side to balance it out?

I posted the same thing on my Land Rover Discovery 3&4 owners club site and I think the second reply was discussing the quality of the wine! It's interesting to see how different people view things.
