Anyone trying Windows 7 RC yet? I'm downloading it as I type, but if you've had any horrendous experiences with it, please share them with me!

To Op asked for peoples' opinion on the new Windows 7 - that's all

Perhaps it's because some of us just want to spread the "Good News" as we see it. But you're right. Gob shut in future, lest we upset the Windows set.brianhabby":2joxgkcj said:Why is it that everytime someone mentions Windows computing there are always those that have to have the Mac Rant.
Traditionally I've always had to pick my hardware wisely, but even when using two to three year old technology that has the backup, I found performance to be far superior to that of MS Bloatware running with the latest dongles, bells and whistles. I'm not a gamer so am not worried about "missing out" with what the proprietary stuff has to offer...and I like to be in control. But if people are happy to be dictated to in terms of functionality and finances then that's fine by me too.kityuser":2joxgkcj said:In summary:
Linux - limited support, but free , used to need low level understanding of how computers work , getting better/easier to use. Don't always have full hardware accelerated support due to manufacturers lack of cooperatio , again getting better

Brian, I asked for knowledge of "any horrendous experiences," which I thought suggested personal experience, not opinions, but I understand your point about Windows gainsayers in general.brianhabby":1ip3ypy0 said:To Op asked for peoples' opinion on the new Windows 7 - that's all

Incidentally, I've taken a long, hard look at Macs in the recent past, but I couldn't justify the pricing, or the limited range of software. I need a LightScribe DVD/CDROM drive - not supported by Apple. I looked at the iMac - beautiful screen, but impossible to upgrade in any meaningful way. The tower units are upgradeable to a larger extent, but are overpriced for me.
