I supppose it depends what you have done Brad this was micro surgery they say the arm must not move and for many other reasons i suppose its easier to knock you out.

I went in for first check today, no infection thank God and all seems well. They made me a new splint where i can now see all my digits so i can start exercising the fingers. Everything is a bit swollen right now stitches come out next friday. no driving for 8 weeks. So far so good. :)

Just a little update, I can take my splint off now just have to wear it when i'm sleeping. My finger seems to be healing well had fun the other day peeling off the scabs  to reveal nice new skin :D . Starting to do lots more exercises now and hopefully a week friday I should be able to start driving again. Heres a couple of photos first one was Monday on my way to hospital in the splint for a check up then out of the splint showing the zigzag scar.

Went to see the consultant about mine on Monday. Been signed off so to speak.

I was driving the day after in my case - changing gears wasn't that hard. Mind you the handbrake, that I had to reach over with the right hand to pull up and take down.

Hope it all heals.

Yeah i think they worry more when its tendon damage I cant squeeze anything yet or carry anything heavy. Luckily I managed to do a couple of days work the other day I just had to oversee someone fitting a kitchen I was dying to get stuck in and fit it myself but still had my splint on then :(
