You might look at Metabo - similar to the 240v Hikoki (IIRC, there’s some shared heritage)
I've got a wadkin ags 10 I'm fixing up. Just looking for a little jobsite to tide me over while I fix it up. And unsure what to get.Don't shop by brand. Decide on what you want and shop around for it. Personally I think a belt driven saw with trunnion is essential as it will keep it's accuracy for life. Otherwise get the biggest capacity saw your shed will comfortably take.
You might consider the heresy of an American saw with a 5/8" arbour as a dado is a very useful tool to have as well as all the extra tooling like moulding heads which are only available in 5/8". I have a DeWalt 746 and it is the best tool I ever bought. Too bad they are not made any more.
Yes I looked at Metabo. They are now both owned by the same parent company. The HiKOKI just seemed much better thought through. I don’t get the sense that they are just rebadged versions of the same thing. Thanks again. You might look at Metabo - similar to the 240v Hikoki (IIRC, there’s some shared heritage)
