Hello everybody,

I am new to this forum and am looking for some advice on router choice.

I own a Jessem table with a lift that can handle certain plunge routers. At the moment it's running with a festool of1010. For future projects this router is not powerful enough so I would like to replace it. The options are:

- hitachi m12v & m12v2
- dewalt 625
- Makita rp2301fc

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on quality of these routers and which one I should buy.

Thanks!

Hitachi every time they outperform every other router I have had in my table, and that includes the Tritons.

Not on your list but in case you're open to different models, then the Triton TRA001 takes some beating.

I am not really looking for a triton.

It will be a dedicated router for in the table. I have a jessem prestige router lift so I dont need any built-in lift.

I'm basically looking for the best quality motor out of these options. These are the ones that fit without modifications.

Thanks for the help!

The Jessem is pre-drilled for the following routers:
Festool OF1010
Festool OF1400
DeWalt 625
ELU 3337-9
Makita RP2301/RP2300
Hitachi M12V
Bosch 1617/1604
Bosch 1617/1613

The best quality I have no doubt will be one of the Festool routers, if you can stand the pain of opening a wallet that far, I use a Hitachi M12V in a UKJ router table and lift, this has not missed a beat since installing it.

Mike
