Hi folks been doing a lot of thinking and getting more confused by the day but have narrowed it down to the following options.

Dewalt dw777 216mm mitre saw £258.00

Hitachi c8fse 216 mitre saw £228.00

Jet JSMS-10L 250mm Slide Mitre Saw £214.00

Metabo kgs254 £199.00

Would prefer a 10" saw but budget is limited to about £250 ish

Any comments and views welcomed

Cheers

In the end I went for the 8 inch c8fse

Overall it is a great compact little saw with good cut depth and width. However there is one fundamental disign flaw I have found with it. It has a flip down extension for the back rest plate that is normally in the up position.

But as I found out today if you don't put in I to the down position to extend the left hand back upright stop you cut straight through it. You then try to put the 2 bits back together and see it says caution remove when cutting miters I now have a saw in 2 pieces instead of one and one lanced blade I wonder if this is why they send it wi 2 blades.

Over a great saw will keep it and this is a small issue as you don't need the extension on it it does very little.

Will try to post photos later in week.

Cheers
