Hey Bob, it's not so cold up here- just really gloomy.

As I mentioned, there aren't any other parts indicated in the manual (downloaded from the wadkin site).

There is a "proper" solution out there!

2 possibilities - Independent Land Rover specialist (NOT main dealer) or Agricultural Engineers.

Various heavy oils are used in ag. machine gearboxes. I buy EP140 grade oil for my cut off bandsaw g/box in 500 ml tins from Ag eng. supplier. There are also thixotropic greases designed for Ag. gearboxes, especially those not very well sealed. These are also often used in vintage landrover steering swivels that house the universal joint that allows drive and steering to front wheels (when the standard 90 gear oil leaks too badly)

Castrol (see website) have technical helpline who can advise when you get to see exactly what you're dealing with.
