Hi I am trying to buy some air tools for my b/f for Christmas so that he can work on his car. I want to buy an air tool kit and have looked at a few makes including Clarke and Marksman but havent got a clue on which brands are worth buying!
Any advice would be most welcome
Thanks :)

its also knowing which tools i actually need, an impact wrench, rachet wrench, air hammer, die grinder, sander and drill seem to be the main ones?? not sure if i need the rachet wrench as not sure what it is for?!

Sorry to stomp. I have a question about air compressors..
Mine is set to low pressure and will not power a small nail-gun..
I know it will but how do I increase the air pressure..
Will take a pic and post it...
If I can increase the pressure I would buy more air tools...
One hint I can give you cinda is do not skimp on the pressure hoses
I have gone through two cheep ones I could have baught one good
one with snap on fittings

lol dnt worry about 'stomping'
Erm he is restoring his vw mk1 golf convert he got quite a bit of body work to do I think...I'm not too sure I just am grateful for the peace when he working on it!!

In which case he will need an air saw, chisel for cutting out the rust and probably an inpact wrench for putting it all back together, an air ratchet is also a useful luxury.

You don't say what kind/size of compressor you have...that info might help. Compressors usually have a two dial pressure regulator. One dial will show tank pressure and the other will show output pressure. The tank will probably be around 110-120 psi. There should be a control knob on the regulator that lets you change the output pressure. Nailers need around 90 psi...but that may vary with the size/make of gun.

Hi been bit busy will take the pics tomorrow morning and post them.
there is no info on the compressor all I know about it is it was used
by a dentist...who use to make dentures...lol

This is the type of regulator that I have on my cheapo compressor. The price on Ebay seems a bit steep, considering that my compressor only cost about £70 all in but it gives you an idea what the regulator might look like.
