I notice that eBay seem to be getting pricey on their commission charges.. Just a small forewarning!

John :)

Damn right they are  They'll rip you off for 10% of the final selling perice PLUS all your insertion costs etc. Maybe even VAT gets clawed back as well. eBay is expensive.

Well it's true then Roger. You can make oodles of money, on-line, sitting in front of your PC in your Jim-Jams, sipping your morning coffee, in less time than it takes to give the dog his morning exercise! (If you have a brain wave, and set up a site like eBay or Betfair!)

Sometime ago I was watching Sjobergs benches on eBay and they were going for quite a bit in the last few minutes. This bench looks to be in the same league so I reckon it's worth your while watching a few benches to see what they go for and then decide on a price (or put it on eBay).

If I had some £'s to spend I'd be interested.

What are the dimensions?

That is a very tidy-looking workbench indeed. Is the entire top 3in. thick? With the Sjoberg benches and others, I think they use 45mm worktops for the main 'bench, edged with thicker timber to make it look more substantial...

You should have no trouble selling it. What's behind those cupboard doors?

Very many thanks for all the helpful replies, I really appreciate it. I know eBay is getting expensive, and if something doesn't sell you're still stuck with the listing cost. I use eBay quite a lot but can't say I'm a huge fan of the way they do business.

I hadn't heard of Sjoberg so will now look for them on eBay.

I will measure the thickness of the top and report back. Ditto overall dimensions.

Tom K thanks for the offer but I'm afraid £100 won't buy it!

Behind the cupboard doors is ... absolutely nothing. Not now. When I took the photo about 5 hours ago it was chock full of lovely, unused, best quality tools ... what a waste!

Hi Olly,

With the Sjoberg benches and others, I think they use 45mm worktops for the main 'bench, edged with thicker timber to make it look more substantial... Rolling Eyes

Not on the Sjobergs Elite ones they don't 8)

An update as promised: the dimensions are:

Depth 60 cms (just under 2 ft)

Width 150 cms (4 ft 11 ins)

The top is not a solid 3 ins, partly because the mechanism for the side vice is underneath. I have now partially dismantled the bench as it had to be moved from the basement for floor laying (and it is very heavy!) so I've taken some photos of the underside of the top:
