Where to get small piece of Lignum Vitae

Hi

Want to make some wooden bandsaw guides. Anyone know where to buy a small piece. Only need about 1/2 inch square by 6 inch. ( might need slightly bigger to give me something to hold onto while I square it up)

Maybe a pen blank, do they exist in Lignum and where to buy?

I've used lignum vitae blocks on my bandsaw, trust me you won't regret it, can be set toughing the blade and are self lubricating.

I have a Startrite 352 and when I've some time I'm going to get some proper holders made so they are quicker to adjust. I just have rough slots in the lignum through which pass that the bolts that held the original Mehanite blocks in place. Awkward to adjust (as were the original blocks). Would like a holder that just has a thumbscrew to hold the lignum in place rather than the rather cumbersome affair I have with the bolts.

If you haven't used them before all I did was just tension the blade pushed the blocks up so they were just touching and then spun the top wheel by hand to make sure they were not too tight. To sum up they are brilliant, just an occasional touch up and they are good to go. Again just a note (I'm sure you are aware) it's the end grain that touches the blade.

I got a small piece from Timberline but it is big enough to cut 50 guides. Was a couple of quid if I remember correctly. They are in Tonbridge I am sure you are order by post if you are not nearby. Smells fantastic too.
