What was your first machine?

My first powertool, was a Skil jigsaw and powerdrill, i must have been 14, iirc. It was part of the proceeds from spending 2 weeks painting a small shopping arcade in my summer holidays 8)

First fixed machine was an axminster belt/disc sander. Its in a bit of a sorry state now though. Spent 3 years in a damp shed unused.
If i spent a few hours on it it could be better than new. :?

My first machine was, and still is (only 4 months later) a second hand Wickes 12" bandsaw off eBay for £40. Still a bargain even if it stops working, for the jobs I've used it for!
