Have you noticed on virtually every bridge over a dual carrageway or motorway a thingy?

Most are royal blue - I had assumed they were cameras of some sort.
I've recently noticed some are now "piggybacked" with a similar green thingy.

I've found that the Trafficmaster information is usually so out of date as to be useless. The times I've been sitting in a jam on the motorway only to be told there are no hold-ups! Has been rumoured that they provide a tiered service and that if you pay more/subscribe then you get accurate information as opposed to the roll of the dice.

The benefits are if you car is nicked itll be zoned to a certain area.

You then need only wait two weeks for a copper to be available to go and have a look at that area to see if your car is still there! Isn't technology marvellous!

Steve.

Ta for that chaps, at least I now know.

Steve,

That reminds me: about 10 years ago I had a car stolen from outside my house.
Reported it to the police straight away, two weeks later they found it.
It was parked in the police station emergency exit and had quite obviously been there for a long while.

These ones not to worry about, I was told green ones are in use by higher authorities for recording every single numberplate. You are being watched!!

The Highways Agency use Number Plate Recognition kit. That's how they can tell you how long it takes (or at least took somebody in front of you) to get to the next junction.

I know someone who works there and am told that the 'higher authorities', including the police, want access to the data but have not been given it.

How long will it be before they are? Ask Jaqui Smith.

Cheers

 really :?:

When I lived in Telford my next door neighbour had his camper van nicked. Psycodelic paint job, he was a part hippy, it was as obvious as Blackpool tower
Took the police a fortnight to find out it had been left in their carpark!

Guess i was wrong

Not at all bluezephyr, we are all being watched more and more.

Gary

I'm sure the authorities would never abuse the power that comes with all this knowledge. As sure, that is, as I am riding this bike.

Cheers

Dave
