Yes the black grub screw adjusts table level. These machines are prone to being a bit out as the tables have to be taken off for thicknessing each time. Also avoid lifting the machine by the tables, it doesnt help.

The key is to make the 2 tables parallel to each other.

The difficulty is that fading out when surfacing can be difficult to identify as it can be caused by tables being out of parallel -a convex and concave fashion can both cause fade. Combine this with cutters being set at wrong height and it can become really frustrating. As mentioned above, make any changes one at at time and keep notes as you go.

btw when checking with the straight edge, should you Place the straight edge only on the outfeed table so its paralel with the outfeed table+a bit over cutterblock and try to turn than to see if it moves those few mm, or you should place the straightedge on both infeed/outfeed table so it really isn't paralel to anything. when placing the straight edge over the both infeed/outfeed table the cutterblock moved the straightedge by the few mm it needed, but when you placed the straightedge only paralel to the outfeed table+ cutterblock it didn't moved it at all!
not sure which is the correct way?

This is a little strange. I've never heard of, or seen that brand of square anywhere else except in my Dads garage and he isn't a DIY type. He's had his for absolutely years, like maybe 30 or 40. His, despite being little used, is concave by about 0.8mm at the narrow point but is undamaged. I kid you not.

I had an Axminster planer and was using his straightedge to try and check the setup. I was getting odd results with various things. In the end I bought a good Starrett because I wanted a combination square set. Out of curiosity I ended up testing the edge of my Dads square, leading me to discover the above.

If you haven't got a good straight edge, you're on a hiding to nothing. I promise you the above is absolutely true.

it's a 1euro straight edge not from UK :D it's the best one I have ever had- because I don't have any other, and its bright yellow and always easy to find.

However I have now fixed my issue by simply adjusting the outfeed table with the small black grub screws , it all plans nice and straight now!
Thanks for all the suggestions guys.
