That calculator is quite interesting when you consider the thermal (in)efficiency of combustion engines; a really good diesel engine might hit 50% thermal efficiency. So if that engine is putting out 100hp at the crank (not that much by today's standards) then it must be burning nearer to 200hp in fuel (the other 100hp, 50%, being lost - mostly to heat).

100hp is nearly 75kW. That would take 100 litres of water from 20C to 99C in just 8 minutes. Quite the kettle.
