That offer has been running for a while now and ends at the end of this month. I've already availed meself of a gallon of TBIII - Rob

I need yet more TBII but the postage wipes out the savings. I'll wait til I go down there next.

Hells bells! You bathing in it, Rob?
Philly :D
Got lots of veneering to do though Philly for the next big project  and veneering is the one thing that seems to eat glue  - Rob

I took advantage of the same offer - getting through half a litre in less than a week making the shop furniture! But when it arrived I was a little shocked at just how much a gallon of glue actually is!!!
Cheers

I reckon if you decant it to smaller bottles it will last much longer. Not the most tidy of workshop tasks but should go a ways to protect the contents for longer.

Titebond is THE glue for me...always has been since I discovered it in guitar building.

I will say that the Titebond comparison section of their website makes excellent reading though! It is very important to get the right one for the application...don't be fooled into thinking that Original = good...II is better and III is best.

For indoor use...lack of creep....adhesion and sheer strength, the "Original" is by far the best IMHO.

I wouldn't mind trying the Poly though...although I hear the fake "hide" is not up to much...

Anyone else have some personal views?

Jim

PS....you guys are REALLY trying to get me through those doors in Sittingbourne ain't ya! :D :D :D :D

I like the III - and it matches the Walnut I'm working with at the moment to some degree.
But two things persuade me to buy Titebond - grab and easy sanding (not sure how much that varies across the range but good with the III).
I was applying some lipping yesterday - 1/4" thick - having been resawed and left a few days it had a nice arc to it! Quick rub and it stuck to the wood even before I started clamping!
Cheers
Gidon

I prefer II as a general purpose glue. I'd only consider another glue if it was critical. I'd like to try some of the other brands of 'yellow' glue. Which I believe is Aliphatic Resin.
