Hi folks,
I'm a DIYer doing his first built in wardrobe for my own home I'm renovating. I got some great advice here on door and filler strip spacing.
I've received all my cut panels from a company and ready to start making. But I've just started doubting my plinth height and whether carpet fitting afterwards will cause problems.
I've built a ladder plinth 80mm high installed over the subbase (which is 22mm chipboard). I'm guessing carpet with decent underlay will add about 20mm.
Will this leave enough height for a recessed kick plate? And should I install my kick plate before carpeting (I would intend to screw it in from behind before installing the wardrobe to make it easier), or would be better sat over the top of the carpet?
Just want to make sure I'm not causing myself problems down the line, as with a DIY renovation project I cause myself enough of those as it is!
Thanks in advance,
Pete
