Miles away - totally impractical...
I realise that this is highly unlikely to be available but with some people's love/hate relationship with software I thought it worth asking...

SWMBO guesses that the cost of moving from the free to paid version of Cutlist should cost about £20 to be viable so she's not signing up to £54!

So... If anyone bought and then stopped using Cutlist and want's to find it a new home then I have £20 to spend to buy the licence number off you...

:D

I'm intrigued, how do you quess it's only worth £20 for an upgrade :?: :?

Whilst estimating board purchases to template glass splashbacks for the kitchen...

ME: Sigh... this limit of 5 parts is a real bind at times.
SWMBO: Er, what you talking about?
ME: Cutlist. It's great but you're limited to 5 parts.
SWMBO: Oh, that's a bit pants.
ME: Well it's the free (kinda trial) version.
SWMBO: Oh. Well how much does it cost to buy?
ME: Hmmm... Not sure (knowing full well that it's £54).
SWMBO: Well, if it's no more than £20 then it's worth doing. Otherwise you've coped with it until now so not much point in spending any more.

SWMBO struggles to comprehend how I manage to find things that I "need" with alarming regularity.

Try Optimik, I'm sure it allows more than 5 parts. more like 15 or 20

Mett,
when I signed up for the ?silver? version of cutlist it did only cost about £21. I saved more than that in accurately estimating the quantity of MFC I needed for my kitchen refit. A saving of one 8' x 4' sheet covered the cost of the program. Having said that, the price has really jumped up over the last year or so. I know a lot of the old hands, now departed to another forum, pooh-poohed the idea of a program to work out your cutting list, but as a relative novice I found it very useful. With ten 8' x 4' sheets to break down it was invaluable to have a printed diagram (and printed labels) for each sheet. It saved me a huge amount of time and head-scratching. Sorry to ramble on but for a big-ish project it would pay for itself, even at £54...honest Mrs Matt it really is good VFM.

Yeay - good call, Wizer. Many thanks.

Any advance of 30 parts for free? http://www.rasterweq.com/specifications.htm

The 30 days evaluation copy of Smart2DCutting has printing disabled and a parts limit of 10.000 parts.
When the evaluation period expires, after 30 days, the parts limit is reduced to 30.

Prepare to be topped, Cutlist written by some guy on Delphi (a programming program I think) you can have unlimited pieces. I used it to create this:

From this:

Download CutList here!

but it only works in inches, or can it be changed into metric?

Decimal is metric my good man! Above where it has the 3 types of fractional settings there is decimal. So just whack in mm measurements like you would. 24cm is 240 or 2.4 meters is 2400 and so forth. I'm a child of the new age and couldn't tell you if 1/8th was larger or smaller than 1/16th!

The best function of that program is that you can arrange the boards yourself, I couldn't get print to work for me but I think that was just my computer as I could make a virtual printout and import that into word for printing.

Child of the new age and you can't use google to find out? PFFT!
Can't grab the nearest tape or rule and have a look? PFFT!

(I jest)

Dont tell no one but I have a fractional inch to mm website saved in my favorites. I regularly read the American forums and tutorials so I need to convert what them cave dwellers of there are talking about.

Glad you liked it, doesn't seem to be available to download off the original site so I'll leave it up on my site for people to grab.

How do you get the file to load into cutlist from sketchup? Can you export it somehow or do you have to do it manually?

Ta

Its a manual process.

Oddsocks, thats where I downloaded it from, but when I went to link the website was gone, nice to see its back up.
