One more thing if you don't mind.
Do you have any idea what one of these weighs?

400 pounds you mean Trev? Got the manual, can quote it exactly if needs be. The bigger Sagar derived lumps might indeed be 400Kg, but this one was billed as 'the small Wadkin'(!!) originally.
Pressed steel base you see, only cast is the upper cabinet, main internal casting and the table and wings.
That said, each sub-component is definitively hernia inducing if it slips! Putting the table (sans wings) back on is a real grunt, but the piece-de-sweet-Lord-above is the motor, which has to be inserted from below, then bolted on as gravity wants it back. Now. On yer futt...
There IS a safe way to do it, but to.know that you have to have two sponsors, both high chieftans in their right, one drop of blood from a freshly hatched Komodo dragon and a subscription to the Vatican Times....

I was going off the literature, perhaps it overstates how heavy it is:

Looking at other literature, the bigger brother the Wadkin BGP is just over 1000KG 😳

Aaarrghhhh....I think problem.is mine Trev, my crossed wires, "SORRY!". I was quoting weights etc for an AGS 10", a smaller, less 'endowed' animal compared to what you (rightly) quoted for the bigger saw.

You were pretty spot on if it was an AGS10 though, 392lbs or 178kg

Artie may be talking about an AGS rather than a BGS anyway, they're not as common as the AGS machines.

The guy told me it's a BGS 12 sliding table, originally 3 phase but he put a 2hp 240v motor in it. He wants £650 for it.
I think it might be under powered.

It might be a little underpowered but £650 is an absolute bargain if it's all there in one piece, if he were to list that on eBay he'd get clear over a grand for it more than likely.

Unless you plan on ripping a lot of heavy sections you won't really notice the lack of power too often.
