Anyone made anything that fits the thread title?
I'm no use at all at making proper things such as those I see on this site, simply don't have the skills or the funds to pay for proper timber, so I make crap from scrap.
During lockdown I was watching a movie about people living in isolation and became a bit obsessed with making a dust-bowl type cabin with everyone stuck in one room. I started making logs with the slats from my neighbours airing cupboard (as you do) and ended up with the attached. Thing is, what am I gonna do with it ha!

It obviously kept you sane during lockdown :giggle:
Though as someone who in his time has made a wooden adding machine, and a calculator disguised as a chest of drawers, I've made my fair share of useless items:LOL:

I made a one legged stool. Gave it to someone i was working with

It's always the best thing to gift it to someone, as that takes the worry as what to do with these damn things right out the equation.
So you turned the one leg, but the others wouldn't come right? 😊

Well no i had it in my head from an encounter from when i was in the scouts at a jamboree. Some of the Dutch scouts had these one legged stools that attach around the waist with a leather strap, and when you go to sit down the stool moves and it pretty much automatically moves to create a place to sit.
I think it would take a fair bit of confidence to trust that the stool will be there as you commit to sitting down.

One of the guys i was working with. a bloody giant of a guy, 6'7" wasnt really into owning furniture as in a normal house and preferred to use cushions.
So remembering about the one legged stool id seen those years previously, thought i'd make him something that wasnt exactly a piece of furniture, but would afford a better seating position and being a single leg would be something that you perch on, and i felt fit better in with his lifestyle.

I had the same bug Hugh, every bit of scrap turned into carts and aeroplanes. Just kept churning them out. Psych evaluation next week!!!
