A print screen of a message my virus protector (BULLGUARD) keeps throwing at me when using my music software (Band in a box)
It appears from information being given to me by the software supplier that bullguard is being over enthusiastic and there is nothing to worry about. But the interuption causes a lock up on the music program.

Can I switch off the virus program (there is a switch off option) when using the music program?

Did I also ought to switch off the broadband first?

Is it sufficient to just take off the electric power supply of the broadband or have I got to pull the dual axial cable socket out of the PC as well?

can you not adjust bull guard to remember this program and allow it to access internet its probably just after track details etc

At the present time when this happens I seem to have a lock up so unable to do anything but pull the plug.

However the software supplier ( a local man ) said he would call in and do some donkey work and stop bullguard doing this. But you know what retailer promises can be like!!!!!!!!!

Just disable bullgaurd use band in a box then enable bullgaurd again .

What Band in a box is doing is not just trying to access the internet. Its trying to modify the functionality of internet explorer to do something. Its modifying the programming code to do something that is normally not possible and should not be possible. Mostly spyware programs do this to get pass some security protections in place to be able to obtain email addresses, visited sites, stored password etc.

To lockup can be due to Band in a box modifies something that has been changed between versions of internet explorer and thus breaking its functionality leading to a lock up.

I would stop using Band in a box. But if you really need it unplug your network connection, disable bullgaurd , use band in a box, reboot after wards and then plug back your network connection. Unplugging or power off would be similar.

Also try to search the internet for band in a box involving spyware.

Thanks for your input on this matter. Your suggestions seems a very sensible way to proceed. I enjoy using band in a box because I let the program perform a piece of music (live) and I can accompany live at the same time, its like being a member of a band or soloist.

I don't know Bullguard but can't you just check the 'Remember my answer for this application' box before clicking 'yes' or is Bullguard totally hanging?

Yes totally hanging so I cant make an option for the next time.

Although the software supplier (local man) said he would come in and do some changes I suppose to the code?
