Leather. Jaws appear to favour left side (no idea why), so helps.
Sourced from a cheap leather apron on Amazon.

After a few months of use it has perished along the top edges.
I have a few sets of the plastic jaw covers with magnets.I cut up an old bread board. No idea what sort of wood it is.
The metalworking vice has magnetic rubber inserts with grooves for holding tubular objects.
I used spray adhesive - perhaps that's why it didn't work too well for me. I saw a recent video where someone used PVA. I think that's probably a better solution.I have a length of Crubber (from Classic Hand Tools) to fit to my Record 52 1/2. I'm nearly at the stage of insetting the vice to the bench. What did you use to stick it to the jaws please?
I got a very stout and nice chunk of leather from my local trad shoemender. It cost me a tenner. If you find a local saddler, who actually makes stuff, they will often have scraps which can be had for very little. Also makes really good bed wipers for lathes etc.
Kinky!I fitted leather onto mine.
What type and where did you get the magnets as I have no idea on thisI have some pieces of wood with magnets glued into them for use with my metal working vice.
They take seconds to fit/remove.
You’ve got me thinking whether this might be viable for the Parky.
