Veneers for bentwood ring turning?

Hi folks am wanting to do a bit of bentwood ring making and looking for a goodly supply of veneers to play with. I’m struggling to find a supplier of smallish quantities of quality wood veneers locally (Lancs) so am wanting to spread my search a bit further…Any ideas?

Do you have a bandsaw? The strips you need aren't particularly wide or long, so maybe you can cut your own at least for a first go. I've just been trimming some c. 200 long x c. 30 crosss section ash to get it dead square 28x28, a by-product being some strips less than 1mm thick.
