I got the vanity unit finished ready for the bathroom re-fit. I used MRMDF for it and painted it with clear over base white.

I copied the design from our local bathroom centre when we went shopping. Guy in the store thought I was measuring it up for a good fit in the bathroom, he he. We bought the suite online in the end as it was cheaper.

I went the whole hog and fitted soft closers and full length runners on the drawers. Now the fun bit of fitting it.

That looks very nicely finished.

I would be interested to know what finishing materials and methods you used - I am just about to ask for some advice on water based spray paint finish for some MDF bedroom units.

On a related point, I have been alarmed at some swelling on a MR MDF panel I have fitted in a bathroom where the wc leaked slightly. It does not seem to be very MR!

Wow, that looks fantastic! I have a few of these on my 'to do' list, but I need to get better at basic joinery first, so that [like yours] it looks properly made/shop bought (is that a contradiction of terms - shop bought/properly made?).

I'd be interested to know how you cut the profile of the basin - large profile gauge? As with scholar, I too would be interested to know how you finished it so well, although I don't have a spray booth.

Thanks for the comments guys. As for the profile for the basin I just used a cardboard template. I tried spraying water based paint recently and it was pants so I returned to my old favourite of 2K laquer, pigmented white. This is so much easier to spray and ideal for a dusty workshop like mine. I did use some primer on this one but normally just use sanding sealer. (I got it free) I am sorry there were no WIP but I was in a hurry to get this finished as I had SWMBO on my back for it! I am in the process of replacing the bathroom at the moment and the unit is half fitted now.
